HR Investigations & Grievance Management: A Complete Practical Guide

WORKSHOP OVERVIEW

This comprehensive workshop provides HR professionals with a step-by-step guide to conducting investigations and managing grievances effectively, fairly, and with empathy. Participants will be equipped with practical tools including an investigation checklist and questioning templates, ensuring they leave with resources they can immediately apply in their roles.

The workshop covers the full investigation process — from recognising when a grievance requires investigation, to planning interviews, gathering and assessing different forms of evidence, and sequencing interviews in the right order. Special emphasis is placed on effective questioning techniques for complainants, witnesses, and respondents.

To deepen learning, participants will engage in hands-on role plays and simulations, practicing how to conduct grievance interviews and a full investigation exercise. These activities allow participants to put theory into practice, building confidence in applying investigative procedures while maintaining fairness, compliance, and compassion throughout the process.
