Workplace Fairness Act 2025: A Practical Guide for Employers and HR

 

WORKSHOP OVERVIEW

This half-day workshop offers a guide to the Workplace Fairness Act 2025 (WFA), equipping participants with a deeper understanding of the legislation and its implications for organisational practices. 

The session begins with an overview of the WFA’s provisions including the 11 protected characteristics, highlight key exceptions and how they apply to the day-to-day hiring decisions of a company. 

Participants will engage in interactive exercises covering common risk areas, including drafting fair job descriptions, avoiding discriminatory questions during interviews and recognising how unconscious bias can affect staff management.  These practical activities are designed to build both awareness and actionable skills, ensuring that HR professionals and managers can translate the law into fair and effective workplace practices.

  • Identify inappropriate instructions and recruitment practices that could breach the WFA.
