Respect at Work: Understanding, Preventing, and Responding to Inappropriate Behaviour at Work

WORKSHOP OVERVIEW

This full-day workshop is designed to build awareness for ALL STAFF on understanding how to recognise, prevent and respond to inappropriate behaviour in the workplace, including bullying, harassment and discrimination.

Participants will be introduced to their company’s respect and conduct policies, gaining clarity on the standards of behaviour expected of them and their responsibilities in fostering a safe, inclusive and respectful working environment.

Moving beyond theory, participants will discuss sample real-life scenarios and case studies in small groups, so they can apply their company’s policies to sample situations to better understand why colleagues might respond negatively to certain behaviours.

The focus of these discussions is not to attribute blame on each other, but on how to positively engage with colleagues in the future.

There will be practical activities to develop practical skills and confidence in participants to respond in a professional manner to de-escalate interactions that make them feel uncomfortable with suggested approaches and phrases applied in “cheat sheets”.

This in-depth programme combines knowledge building with interactive discussions to ensure participants are engaged throughout the workshop.
